Felon Shoots Himself In The Junk But Claimed a Homeless Person Did It

Marcus Anthony Davis Jr. has prior felonies, which makes it illegal for him to be in possession of a firearm. Davis Jr. has been serving jail time over a drug charge in January. A judge granted his temporary release for the birth of his daughter. Davis claimed he had been robbed and shot by a white homeless man at a local bus stop in Portland, but he couldn’t share any details about the suspect, according to the prosecutor. Police went to the location and found no evidence of a shooting or robbery. It was determined that a misfire from poor handling of the firearm caused Davis Jr. to shoot himself in the testicle.

The weapon was found wrapped in Davis Jr.'s bloody clothes and had been reported stolen in 2018. Davis Jr, described by the prosecutor in court papers as a member of a gang, was on federal supervision from a 2016 conviction for possession with intent to distribute cocaine. He has prior convictions are for assault and attempted murder.
