We love our firefighters! These are the most selfless human beings. The Douglas County Fire Department is perfect proof. They’re sending “BEAR HUGS” to Texas in a show of support .We’ve been relatively lucky here in Georgia in regard to winter weather. The same can’t be said for those in the Lone Star State.
New Douglas County Fire and EMS Chief Roderick Jolivette wanted to do something to bring smiles to the faces of the children in Texas. The goal was simply to make a child’s day. So he came up with a pretty simple plan to collect as many teddy bears as possible to ship to the children in Austin, Texas.
The drive will continue through March 8th and the ask is pretty easy – to donate a small, new stuffed teddy bear. We’re doing our part at 94.9 The Bull. We’re asking you to do the same. Those willing can drop off the bears in a contact-less tote bag that is sitting outside of each of the ten fire stations in Douglasville or at fire headquarters.
“I’m energized by the outpouring of support and interest so far on this project that was kicked off on Monday, February 22. I hope and pray we can have all the color tote bags at all ten of our fire stations completely filled by the end of the donation drive,” said Chief Jolivette.
Drop off times are from 8 AM to 8 PM at the fire stations or 8 AM to 5 PM at headquarters.
