Sam Hunt will receive CMT's first ever Song of the Year at the 2017 Artist of the Year celebration next month. He'll be honored for "Body Like a Backroad," which has broken several records, including the most consecutive weeks on top of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart by a solo artist.
The show airs live on October 18th from Nashville's Schermerhorn Symphony Center.
This year's honorees are Chris Stapleton, Florida Georgia Line, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.
The show will also honor victims of Hurricane Harvey and volunteers who helped rescue them.
This is the eighth time CMT has done the show.
