In January 2023, Joey Watkins was granted bond and released from prison. On September 1, 2023, he was exonerated after a DA chose not to proceed with the charges against him. On that day, Joey's ankle monitor was cut off and he was finally free, over 22 years after his nightmare began. Thanks, largely in part, to The Innocence Project. On this episode, we're telling his story.
