The folks at Casa Nuova Italian restaurant in Alpharetta have two passions - serving delicious Italian food made from their own homegrown vegetables and helping the fight against Pancreatic Cancer. The restaurant's owner, Maria Fundora founded Purple Pansies, after her mother's death from pancreatic cancer,. Purple Pansies is 501(c(3)) nonprofit dedicated to making a difference in the lives of individuals and families fighting pancreatic cancer through humanitarian assistance and much-needed research funding.
Recently, Purple Pansies and Casa Nouva shifted their focus to treat ICU staff members of Northside Hospital Forsyth to a delicious Italian lunch!
"Our frontline healthcare workers around Atlanta and beyond are working incredibly hard caring for people who are sick (including cancer patients) during this crisis. We will likely never be able to repay those folks who have and continue to sacrifice their safety and health for us."
Maria wanted to express her heartfelt gratitude and appreciation and give just a little bit back in honor of her mother and so many others who have died from pancreatic cancer.
Kroger also joined in and donated gift cards to buy water, snacks, and other items in addition to lunch for the workers!
