Atlanta is a city of 6 million plus people. Earlier this week Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms implemented a shelter-in-place order for the city.
Normally, Atlanta's streets are flooded with people on foot going from restaurants, events, shopping or just home from work, but these days the only people you see on the street are those essential workers. Of course, Medical personnel are essential workers and still bravely go to work every day, now on the front line of the fight against Covid-19.
Home-bound residents of the massive high rise buildings of Atlanta have started a new tradition. At 8 p.m. every night they open their windows or take to their balconies and cheer those medical workers as they change shifts!
Makes me so proud of my home town!
