Chadwick Boseman inspirational text shared by his friend actor Josh Gad

Chadwick Boseman, the actor who starred in BLACK PANTHER and many other iconic roles passed away Friday at the age of 43 after a four year battle with colon cancer.

The Anderson, SC native died at home surrounded by family.

A statement from his reps said :"Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016, and battled with it these last 4 years as it progressed to stage IV. A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much." The movie Black Panther did not begin filming until 2017.

Most people knew him for his role in the blockbuster Marvel movie, Black Panther, but he also played many iconic historical Black figures.

He played MLB player Jackie Robinson in the movie "42". Usually the MLB celebrates Jackie Robinson Day on April 15, but due to the altered baseball season from the pandemic, Jackie Robinson day was moved to Friday, August 28, the day Boseman died.

He played legendary singer James Brown in Get on up.

He also played Thurgood Marshall, the first African American Supreme Court Justice, the the 2017 drama Marshall with actor Josh Gad.

Gad shared one of his final text from Boseman via social media. I am so grateful he did. These words are beautiful and inspirational and knowing what he was battling when he wrote them make them even more powerful.

I'll be printing this out and hanging on my wall as a reminder to stop everyday and be thankful.

"Inhale and exhale this moment, and thank God for the unique beauties and wonders of this day, We should take advantage of every moment we can enjoy the simplicity of God's creation, whether it be clear skies and sun or clouded over with gloom."
