In my humble opinion, Hardy's new song featuring Lainey Wilson is the most improtant song of 2022. "Wait In The Truck" is a powerful song shining the spolight on domestic abuse.
"Wait in the Truck" was co-written by Hardy, Hunter Phelps, Jordan Schmidt and Renee Blair.
"[It's] probably the best song I've ever written to be honest," Hardy stated via press release. "It hit me so hard the first time I heard the demo back, and no other song had done that before. Very excited for the world to hear the song, excited for the song to give people a platform to maybe speak out about stuff that might be going on in their own homes."
"Thank you to Lainey Wilson for doing this song with me — she crushed it, she crushed the music video, I just can't wait for the world to see this and I can't wait to play it live," he adds.
On a personal note, I've witnessed domestic abuse. I've seen the fear in a woman's eyes when she feels there's no way out. I've sat holding her hands while tears of embrassement and hopelessness streamed down her face.
Over 22,000 calls were made to a domestic violence hotline in a mere 24-hour timeframe. That's an average of 16 phone calls every minute.
