Kristen's Favorite Things - Valentine's Edition Pick #2

Let me paint the picture. You and your honey head up to the bedroom. Neither one of you can wait. Tonight is going to be the night. You've thought about it all day. You both crawl into bed and proceed to do what married couples or people in loving relationships do...you fall asleep!

Unless you can't fall asleep. And it seems like in every relationship, there's one person who is out the minute their heads hit the pillow. The other takes hours to fall asleep. That's miserable.

We all know that a happy and healthy relationship can go downhill fast without proper sleep. You just have to have it. So let me introduce you to The Dodow. (pronounced "Doe-Dow")

Never heard of it? I hadn't either. It's a sleep aid device. I got it for Christmas. My friends and family know that my sleep schedule is crazy. I suffer from insomnia. I was getting about three hours of sleep per day. That just doesn't work, y'all. I was spiraling and it was taking its toll. Was I a little skeptical? Of course. But was I desperate and willing to try anything? OF COURSE! And I'm so glad I did.

The Dodow has helped hundreds of thousands of people fall asleep 2.5 times faster than they used to. It's a metronome with a light system that teaches you how to breathe in coordination so that you can fall asleep naturally. That means no medicine. It basically can turn an hour of laying in bed trying to fall asleep into about 20 or 25 minutes. If you do the math, we're talking over a hundred more hours of sleep per year.

I'm falling asleep faster and I can feel it the next day. I'm not as sore. I'm getting more done. I'm not dragging by lunch time. I believe the gift of sleep is one of the most generous and quality of life giving gifts you can give someone. It's kind and selfless. It lets the recipient know that their well-being is one of your biggest concerns. And obviously, you're not as cranky and more enjoyable to be around when you get better rest.

Maybe with a little extra sleep, you and your sweetie will have the energy and interest in doing the "other" thing that married couples and people in loving relationships do in the bedroom. But hey...that's your business.

Happy Valentine's Day!

P.S. - If you missed yesterday's gift idea...it's posted below. Don't forget to tag your sweetie for a chance to win it!
