Looking at Ourselves in Zoom Ruins our Day

I totally get this, because it happens to me every time I walk past a mirror: A new study found staring at ourselves on Zoomfor too long tends to put us in a BAD MOOD.

Researchers monitored people's eye movements to track what they were looking at on Zoom calls. And their mood got worse and worse the more they focused on their own video. The ones who spent the most time staring at themselves felt the worst by the end of the call.

They also found alcohol makes it worse. People who drank before the call were even more affected by it. That's partly because they tended to stare at themselves even more than people who didn't drink.

There's a chance it doesn't hold true for everyone though. It's possible people who tend to focus on themselves a lot are just more prone to mood swings.
