WNBA star Brittney Griner has now been released from a Russian prison, where she was serving a 9 year sentence for having a marijuana vape pen, for international arms dealer Viktor Bout. Griner had been held since February and had lost appeals to be released back to United States custody. Griner is currently on a plane bound for the USA and Bout had his 25year sentence commuted by President Joe Biden.

According to Wikipedia, Viktor Anatolyevich Bout is a Russian arms dealer. An entrepreneur and former Soviet military translator, he used his multiple air transport companies to smuggle weapons since the collapse of the Soviet Union from Eastern Europe to Africa and the Middle East during the 1990s and early 2000s.
